Movement workshop

A Point of Transformation
Free Workshop with Yumino Seki – using Body, Space and Imagination




Monday 4th July, 7-9pm, Stade Hall, Rock-a-Nore Road, Hastings.

Movement is essential to our lives and is our expression. This workshop explores our field of perception through movement. Reconnecting the mental, physical and emotional body through game, relaxation and partner work we will be looking at our internal and external world and how they are connected to inform our imagination.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own tools such as drawing, painting, writing materials or a camera.

Open to all adults, no experience required.
Please wear comfortable clothes to move around.

Beyond the Circle

Beyond the Circle
Sunday 26th June, 3pm
PROJECT at Stade Hall, Rock-a-Nore Road, Hastings, TN34 3FJ

‘Beyond the Circle’ was a durational dance piece starting on the beach by the lifeboat station, moving through the fishing beach, onto the Stade Open Space, and into Stade Hall. It was commissioned as part of our PROJECT at Stade Hall programme, and featured Dancers Yumino Seki, Carolina Diaz and Ania Pshenichnikova with lighting by Jim Roseveare.

Saturday

This Saturday we'll be running a bird-making and decorating workshop at Stade Hall from 1-4pm, in conjunction with the official launch of the Eat@ the Stade cafe during the afternoon.

The cafe will be running family-friendly activities including face-painting, with children's entertainers and live music from 1.00 -7.00pm.

The SoCo exhibition 'Openings' will be on display at Stade Hall from 10am- 4pm.

Just a reminder that the final deadline for SPOTLIGHT: OPEN competition is 20th June.

Submissions for open studios and general listings for exhibitions and events should be returned by the end of this week.

If you've a submission for the festival but haven't yet been in touch please contact us as soon as possible to ensure a space for your listing. We also have a few advert spaces left- local businesses are especially welcome.

Rarities project

Submissions are NOW OPEN for the Rarities 2011 exhibition of Miniature Magnetic Masterpieces!!

This is a local, national and international exhibition bringing sponsors and artists together for an exciting event in a great place. Rarities 2011 will be exhibited on the gates of Hastings and St Leonards Pier from 4pm on 27 August as part of the launch event for Coastal Currents.

It's free to take part and free for visitors to choose a magnet and find out about your work!
Getting your image in the exhibition is first come first served, so don't leave it too long to submit.

SoCo Exhibition

The next exhibition at Stade Hall opens this Friday and will be on for three weeks:

OPENINGS
A South Coast Artists Exhibition at the new Stade Hall
June 11 - 26 Tues-Sun 10 - 4

This will be an exciting show featuring some of Soco's finest, including Mary Hooper, Louise Kenward, Harry Snook, Paul Bartholomew, Grace Lau, Charlotte Snook, Angie Braven and guest artist Tim Cross. Works will be across the range: painting, photography, prints, drawings and some 3-D.

To accompany the show there will be an illustrated talk by exhibitor and London Group member Eugene Palmer about the narrative themes in his work. This takes place at the Stade Hall on Friday June 17 at 7 pm.

Hannah Rollings Workshop

We've the second of our free weekly workshops for PROJECT at Stade Hall this Saturday (11th June), 1-4pm, with illustrator Hannah Rollings. Drop in at any point. Hannah will be using found objects from the beach as the starting point. All ages welcome.
